The Battle Arena was located in a town east of Saffron City. After nearly an hour and a half of driving, Liu Qing finally saw it. Looking at the enormous wooden gates and walls built from massive rocks, like those of an ancient castle, he felt an imposing weight wash over him.
"I never expected the Battle Arena to be a castle in this old-fashioned style. It's quite a surprise. A Pokémon Trainer without enough mental fortitude might lose their nerve before the battle even starts," Liu Qing said to Scott after parking the car.
"Strong mental fortitude is one of the requirements for becoming a Pokémon Trainer!" Scott had been watching Liu Qing's expression. He saw a flicker of surprise in his eyes, followed by fighting spirit, then calm, and silently nodded in approval. With composure like that and such extraordinary talent, it was no wonder he had become so strong so quickly. Scott walked up to the gates, took a deep breath, and shouted, "Open the gates!"
"Open the gates!" Scott's shout apparently carried over the high walls and through the thick wooden gates, as a powerful female voice answered from within. The enormous gates creaked open.
The first thing they saw was a spacious training ground. A yellow-haired woman stood there wearing a blue bodysuit beneath a black martial arts uniform, with rows of people in blue training uniforms behind her. An indescribable air of solemnity swept over them.
The woman stepped forward, made a gesture as though tightening her belt, and gave a low shout. Liu Qing had never visited a martial arts training ground and was unfamiliar with the gesture, but guessed it was her way of psyching herself up. "Welcome to the Battle Arena. I'm the Frontier Brain here..." She struck a fighting pose
