Although roads connected Lavender Town to Fuchsia City, the journey spanned four routes, making it anything but short. Liu Qing was in no hurry, so he took his time and stopped along the way. Even so, it took him only a week to drive to the Battle Pike near Fuchsia City.
At first glance, the Battle Pike had an imposing presence that was hard to put into words. Its most striking feature was a Seviper-shaped ornament that seemed to lie atop the white building, looking down on the Pokémon Trainers who came to challenge it. Its crimson fangs served as the entrance pillars, while the stone columns lining the approach were decorated with Seviper tails.
"Hey, Liu Qing! You've already figured out what Pokémon this facility's Frontier Brain uses, haven't you?" As Liu Qing drove toward the Battle Pike, Scott came speeding around another bend and pulled alongside him.
"Yes. Seviper isn't a Water-type, but snakes are naturally good swimmers, so it makes sense for it to be the Battle Pike's Pokémon," Liu Qing replied with a nod.
Soon, their cars emerged from the forest, revealing four women standing outside the facility, one in front and three behind. The woman at the front wore an outfit that strongly resembled Seviper, while the three behind her were dressed like tough female gang members.
"Hey, Lucy!" Scott sped up and drove over. After drifting his car into a parking spot, he got out and greeted the woman at the front.
"Scott, is he the challenger this time?" Lucy asked, looking at Liu Qing, who was still taking his sweet time parking.
"Hello, my name is Liu Qing!" Hearing Lucy's question, Liu Qing walked over and introduced himself. "And yes, I'm your challenger."
"Hello, I'm Lucy, the person in charge of this battle
