After leaving the mountain cabin, Liu Qing was already close to Solaceon Town, known as the nomadic town. With its many ranches, beautiful scenery, and mild climate, it was a peaceful little town where people and Pokémon could rest. It was also home to the Lost Tower, a final resting place for Pokémon. After dropping off his bags at the Pokémon Center, Liu Qing headed alone to the famous attraction east of town-the Solaceon Ruins.
But just as Liu Qing arrived at the ruins and was admiring the statues of Palkia and Dialga, a voice filled with surprise and delight suddenly came from above. "Liu Qing, I never expected to see you here!"
"Aze?!" Liu Qing turned toward the voice and saw Xun Chaoze emerging from the entrance to the ruins. A Tentacool floated beside him, apparently serving as a light source, though the effect of Flash was fading.
"Weren't you in Unova? What brought you to Sinnoh all of a sudden?" Watching Xun Chaoze walk down, Liu Qing held out his right fist and bumped it against his, both delighted and puzzled.
"I didn't come here all of a sudden!" Xun Chaoze raised his index finger and wagged it. "I've been here for almost a month!"
"You're not planning to enter the Pokémon League Conference, are you?" Seeing Xun Chaoze dressed for traveling, Liu Qing grew even more puzzled.
"Heh, is there any point in me entering the Pokémon League Conference anymore?" Xun Chaoze chuckled. "Still, you're half right. I did come here for a tournament, just not the Pokémon League Conference. It's a friendly tournament between Unova and the Eastern Hemisphere!"
"A friendly tournament? What's that about?" Liu Qing asked again, confused.
