No one knew how much time had passed before the Legendary Birds and Kyogre finally took their positions at the four vertices of a regular tetrahedron, surrounding the "darkened" Lugia. Each unleashed a move to seal off its movements.

"Ah!" Cynthia cried out in pain and staggered backward. Liu Qing quickly reached out to steady her. Once he saw that she was all right, he frowned at the "darkened" Lugia, which had begun struggling violently.
"Nana, even your power of overcoming failed?" Caitlin asked in disbelief.
"What happened? Was Lugia's rage too strong?" A Hen asked, frowning as well.
"No. The Lugia before us isn't the real Lugia. What rage could it have?" Cynthia gave A Hen a puzzled look, unable to understand what had made him think the "darkened" Lugia was angry. She did not dwell on it, however. Seeing the confusion on Liu Qing's and Caitlin's faces, she explained, "It's the evil spirits. A group of evil spirits has formed a mental barrier. My power of overcoming can't reach Lugia at all!"
"A mental barrier?!" Caitlin's expression stiffened. She gritted her teeth and took a resolute step forward. "Nana, I've never lost to anyone in mental strength, much less a bunch of evil spirits. Leave breaking through that mental barrier to me!"
