The night passed uneventfully. The next morning, after Cynthia and Liu Qing woke up, washed, and ate breakfast, they left the dormitory to depart Lily of the Valley Island. Just then, they saw Jun rushing out of the corridor with his backpack on. Seeing him up to his usual antics, Liu Qing sighed. Clearly, breaking this habit would take more than a day or two. He stopped Jun and asked, "Hey, what's the hurry?"
"Morning, Liu Qing! Morning, my Champion sister-in-law!" Jun hurriedly greeted them when he saw who had called out to him. "I'm going to say goodbye to Ash. I'm afraid he'll leave before I get there!" With that, he rushed off again.
"That kid!" Liu Qing shook his head helplessly. Cynthia smiled faintly and walked on beside him.
"Liu Qing, wait for me!" They had barely gone any distance before Jun's shout came from behind them.
"Back so soon?" Liu Qing asked in surprise as Jun ran up to them.
"I just went to tell Ash to work hard and get stronger so I can beat him. How long would that take?" Jun replied.
"Heh." Liu Qing gave a few dry chuckles. His younger cousin really did think highly of himself. "Have you decided where you're going to travel next?"
"I haven't thought about that yet!" Jun said, scratching his head.
"Then go to Kanto. The Electric-type Gym there is one of the Eight Gyms, and it'll give you some good training. Don't just collect the Lighthouse Badge without even challenging the Gym like you did in Sinnoh. Otherwise, your Empoleon wouldn't have lost so easily to Paul's Electivire at this Pokémon League Conference," Liu Qing said sternly.
