"Because I showed up?!" Liu Qing was baffled. "Don't tell me I have some connection to her lover?" he joked.
Gengar exchanged a few more words with the maiden's soul, and its expression grew even stranger. Looking at Liu Qing, it said, "Great Wind, Prince Yutian! That's what she asked me to tell you!"
Liu Qing's pupils contracted. He couldn't help wondering whether the maiden's lover had once been a citizen of the Great Wind Kingdom. But what did that have to do with him? Was that vision he had seen really enough to make him believe he had some connection to the kingdom's crown prince from at least two thousand years ago?!
"I don't know what she meant by that, but I'll arrange for someone to help spread her story!" Liu Qing turned and walked away. He got into his car, started the engine, and headed back toward Saffron City.
"I'm leaving!" Seeing Liu Qing depart, Gengar immediately spoke to the maiden's stone statue.
"Gengar, thank you!" In Gengar's eyes, a transparent maiden's soul spoke to it. "He was Prince Yutian's Personal Guard. Now that Prince Yutian has appeared, he will surely appear too. I know he is somewhere in this world, and he will come to Prince Yutian's side to carry on his duties!"
"Are you sure my master is this Prince Yutian you keep talking about?" Gengar still doubted what the maiden's soul had told it.
"Appearances can change, and one can possess miraculous powers, but the essence of a soul, deep within, never changes. As a former shrine maiden, I could never mistake it! I sensed Prince Yutian's presence in him!" Her voice was utterly certain.
"I hope you're right!" Gengar said, then turned into a mass of shadow and chased after Liu Qing.
