At the beginning of Konoha Year 48, Kushina became pregnant. I was going to be a father. I could not describe how I felt then. I wanted to share that joy with my parents and family, but although my research into space-time ninjutsu had made great progress, I still had not found a way home. Then I thought of Jiraiya-sensei!
I did not know whether Jiraiya-sensei would receive my message, but I kept hoping. He wrote back to congratulate me and said he would return as soon as possible. He also sent me a novel he had written himself, titled "The Resolute Ninja Way"!
I loved the novel, and after discussing it with Kushina, we decided to name our child after its protagonist. Kushina had no objections.
