Hu Bin swallowed the entire recruitment speech he had prepared, all those lines about working hard together and standing at the pinnacle of the Pokémon world. Torchic, you really don't follow the script!
Vulpix covered its mouth and chuckled at the look on Hu Bin's face. It knew what its trainer had been about to say. After all, he had already given it that same speech once!
Then Hu Bin let Torchic out. Torchic was delighted to emerge, and Hu Bin took it for a bath. It had only just hatched, after all, and its body was still covered in goo from the egg.
Torchic obediently accepted its trainer's care, and Vulpix came over to help. Since Torchic was a Fire-type and naturally afraid of water, soaking in a bath was out of the question. They could only rinse it off.
But the showerhead's spray was too strong as well, so they had to resort to a more primitive method: pouring water over it!
Vulpix used Extrasensory to control the water, gently pouring it over Torchic while Hu Bin rubbed body wash into its feathers. Torchic enjoyed the entire process so much that its little eyes narrowed in bliss!
The whole bathroom was filled with warmth and joy.
Outside, however, Hu Jiaxing, Zhao Lifang, Charizard, and Altaria looked much less pleased. There was no chef to cook for them today! Their chef had gone off to scrub someone down instead!
Since Hu Jiaxing and Zhao Lifang had to hurry to school to teach, they let Hu Bin know before taking the utterly dejected Charizard and Altaria to school with them. They would have to get breakfast there!
