After hearing Hu Jiaxing's suggestion, Torchic nodded furiously like a chick pecking at grain. That sounded like a pretty great idea!
Hu Bin asked curiously, "Dad, how do you train to use Z-Moves?"
Hu Jiaxing said, "Z-Moves aren't actually difficult. The hard part is coordinating with your Pokémon. If you aren't in sync, you're guaranteed to fail!"
Hu Bin said, "So the better we understand each other, the easier it'll be to succeed, right?"
Hu Jiaxing smiled. "That's right. And there's a saying: to learn Z-Moves, you first have to learn to dance!"
Hu Bin's face instantly fell. Dancing? I can do just about anything else, but I can't dance! My limbs have absolutely no coordination. Wouldn't every Z-Move I used turn into a scene of total public humiliation?
Hu Bin forced a smile. "Dad, does that mean I have to learn to dance today?"
"Yes!" Hu Jiaxing said firmly.
Still clinging to a sliver of hope, Hu Bin asked, "Dad, is there any way to use a Z-Move without dancing?"
How could Hu Jiaxing not know what his own son was thinking? His son was just like him-not cut out for dancing, with hopelessly uncoordinated limbs. Who would have thought that could be inherited?
When Hu Jiaxing had used a Z-Move in a tournament, his performance had been dubbed the ultimate train wreck. Although he had won in the end, plenty of viewers had turned the footage into meme remixes. He had single-handedly kept a whole crowd of video creators fed.
That was the second embarrassing stain on Hu Jiaxing's past, after the Marathon!
"I'm afraid you can't learn it without dancing!" Hu Jiaxing said. "Think it over!"
Hu Bin's last shred of hope shattered. Looking utterly defeated, he asked, "Dad, are you going to teach me to dance?"
