Ch. 201The tsundere Zeraora
Plot points and events
- The group identifies the Black Snake Organization as the force behind the attack. Its leader is reportedly Elite Four-level and has a Zapdos, so Li Yanshuo plans a coordinated strike in Sinnoh with help from the local Nirvana Organization and an Elite Four member.
- Lu Gu reveals that Hu Bin is the son of retired Huaxia Elite Four member Hu Jiaxing and the nephew of Alola Nirvana leader Hu Jiawang. Jiawang knows Bin was badly hurt and is on his way; Jiaxing has not yet been told.
- Hu Bin is out of danger but remains unconscious in hospital. His Pokémon, including Ninetales, Dragonair, Blaziken, and Zeraora, keep vigil at his bedside. The Sinnoh League also sends Elite Four member Flint to support the coming operation.
- The next day, Hu Jiawang arrives with Lina and Wu Geng, distraught at seeing his nephew unconscious. Hu Bin wakes up, teasing Jiawang for being loud and messy. His Pokémon and friends rejoice, and the doctor is called to examine him. Hu Bin says he feels hungry and comforts his Pokémon.
Character developments and interactions
- Lu Gu and the others show their concern for Hu Bin, while Li Yanshuo and Yanshan are alarmed by the powerful family connections they learn he has.
- Hu Jiawang’s affection for Hu Bin is evident in his tears and vow to avenge him; Hu Bin’s joking rebuke restores a lighter tone.
- Hu Bin is moved by the loyalty of his Pokémon and reaches out to comfort them. Zeraora, who has stayed by his side, acts aloof but eagerly presses its head into his hand when he begins petting it—revealing its affection beneath its haughty manner.
Significant themes
- Loyalty and care: Hu Bin’s Pokémon remain devoted to him, even neglecting their own needs while he is unconscious.
- Family and protection: His uncle’s distress and the allies’ response underscore how deeply Hu Bin is valued.
- Justice and retaliation: The groups unite to pursue the Black Snake Organization and prevent further harm to Pokémon.
- Affection beneath pride: Zeraora’s guarded, “tsundere” behavior contrasts with its unmistakable concern for Hu Bin.
