Inside the Kamui Dimension, the two men, reunited after years apart, were fighting their final battle.
It differed somewhat from their duel in the original timeline.
In the original timeline, when Kakashi fought Obito, he remained consumed by guilt over failing to protect Rin and breaking his promise to Obito.
Several times, he had the chance to kill Obito, but his guilt kept him from striking at the crucial moment.
Although he ultimately defeated this Dead Last, the battle had taken a few turns along the way.
But things were different now. Kakashi felt no guilt, only anger, confusion, and an overwhelming intent to kill.
The ninja blade in Kakashi's hand flashed high and low, lightning-nature chakra coating its edge and making every slash even more savage.
After years of refinement, Kakashi had incorporated the variations of Lightning Blade into his Hatake Clan's swordsmanship. The fierce, lethal Hatake Style Swordsmanship, combined with the Sharingan's extraordinary ability to track motion, had raised his combat prowess to another level.
Obito was no slouch either. Years of deadly combat, White Zetsu's enhancements to his physical abilities, and the power of the Rinnegan all bolstered him.
These had propelled Obito, the former Dead Last, straight into the ranks of the Shinobi World's strongest fighters.
Still, fighting inside the Kamui Dimension put Obito at something of a disadvantage.
After all, his greatest asset while roaming the Shinobi World had been Kamui's Intangibility.
But Kamui's Intangibility worked by hiding his body inside the Kamui Dimension. Since both of them were already inside it, he could not use Intangibility to evade Kakashi's attacks.
That did not mean Obito was completely unable to fight back against Kakashi, however.
Kakashi's ninja blade flashed as he slashed at Obito again and again.
Yet Obito, who also possessed a Mangekyō Sharingan,
