"What! Izuna and Tetsuya, you're going to Mount Fujikasane to take the Demon Slayer Corps selection too?"
Giyu and Sabito had gotten up that morning and were just about to say goodbye to the two men when Tetsuya said they wanted to take the Demon Slayer Corps selection on Mount Fujikasane too. Their eyes widened.
Tetsuya grinned at their astonished faces.
"That's right. The Demon Slayer Corps selection sounds pretty interesting, so we thought we'd go take a look.
"And as far as I know, there aren't many requirements or conditions for entering, are there?"
Most Demon Slayer Corps swordsmen had dedicated teachers who trained them before the selection, and those teachers had once belonged to the Corps themselves, like Sabito and Giyu's teacher, Sakonji Urokodaki, or Zenitsu's Grandfather, Jigoro Kuwajima. They were retired Corps swordsmen, even former Hashira. Even those teachers who hadn't been Hashira usually had some connection to the Corps.
But there weren't many requirements for joining the Demon Slayer Corps. All someone had to do was pass the selection held on Mount Fujikasane.
There didn't seem to be many conditions for entering the selection either. Inosuke, for instance, would enter in the future despite having little connection to the Corps beforehand.
"But, Tetsuya..."
Sabito's expression turned serious.
"The Demon Slayer Corps selection isn't something you do for fun. It's an extremely brutal, demanding trial. One careless mistake could cost you your life."
He thought the demon's appearance yesterday might have made Tetsuya think slaying demons was fun, giving him the idea of taking the selection and joining the Corps.
But that way of thinking was incredibly dangerous. He felt he had to warn Tetsuya of the risks.
The Demon Slayer Corps wasn't a profession meant for people's entertainment, and slaying demons wasn't some fun game.
