After returning from the future, Madara asked in confusion.

"Tetsuya, why did you do all those unnecessary things?"

"Hmm?"

Tetsuya plopped down on the sofa and tilted his head to look at Madara.

"You mean sealing off the space around Kage Rock and crippling that Black-Haired Brat at the end?"

Madara nodded.

Hashirama also asked curiously.

"Right, I was wondering too. If you sealed off the space because you wanted to watch that last bit of drama play out, I can understand that.

But why did you cripple that Kawaki kid at the end?"

"Hahaha, there wasn't really any special reason."

Tetsuya grinned, took a teapot from beneath the coffee table, and conjured a ball of water to fill it. As he placed the teapot over the fire to heat it, he spoke.

"I don't like self-righteous people. That brat always thinks everything he does is right, that everything he does is for everyone's sake.

In reality, he's just satisfying his own selfish desires.

I hate people like that."

Tetsuya paused, then grinned.

"Because I'm the most self-righteous person in the world. That Kawaki brat's self-righteousness is far too petty. Someone who's truly self-righteous should be like me and turn the entire shinobi world into what he wants it to be."

Madara looked thoughtful as he listened.

Hashirama, meanwhile, clapped his hands a beat late.

"So everything you've done has been an expression of self-righteousness, Tetsuya? But I've always thought you did all this for peace in the shinobi world."

Tetsuya shrugged.

"So what? Did I ask anyone else's opinion? Is this what everyone else wanted?

I forcibly unified the shinobi world without asking anyone else's opinion and turned it into what I consider its best form. Isn't that self-righteous?"

Hashirama felt as though his brain was about to overheat.
