A gentle breeze blew through the courtyard. Sitting on a cushioned bench, Rex quietly stroked the exquisite box in his hands, his gaze distant. Footsteps sounded as a tall woman in lavish, fitted clothes approached with graceful steps, followed by a demurely dressed woman.
Her close-fitting clothes perfectly accentuated her curves. Reaching out with fingers as white as jade, she covered Rex's eyes from behind and said softly, "Guess who?"
"No need to guess. I know it's you, Rona. Even with Gwen helping, no one but you would dare." Rex slowly closed the gap in the box's lid. A fleeting gleam of black light from within offered a faint clue to the treasure it contained. He put the exquisite box into his storage ring, then gently pulled the hands away from his eyes.
