A hazy portal appeared in a corner of Pyrewood Village, near its center. After several years of development, Pyrewood Village had grown from a village into a small city. The portal had caused quite a stir when it first appeared, but it had appeared many times since, and the people of Pyrewood Village had grown familiar with it. Guards were stationed at the designated arrival point, and every appearance of the portal was recorded in a register.

This was a measure Rex had implemented. Convenient though portals were, they could not be used without restrictions. If Kael'thas could pinpoint Pyrewood Village and teleport there, so could an enemy. Without precautions, enemies could easily enter Pyrewood Village itself. Dalaran, for example, prohibited the use of portals within a certain radius.

The faint, illusory portal slowly solidified. Once it stabilized, two figures emerged one after the other. The first wore magnificent robes and stood beside the portal, radiating an elegance that could not be concealed. Even dressed in linen cloth, Kael'thas would have been unmistakably a nobleman.

In ancient times, the High Elves had been the nobles among the Night Elves, and every one of them observed exceedingly strict etiquette.

"Your Highness," the guards called, immediately saluting when they saw Rex.

"Let's go. The Greymane Wall is just ahead!" After Rex stepped out, the stabilized portal slowly faded until it vanished. He nodded to the guards on duty, then addressed Kael'thas.

"All right," Kael'thas replied without saying anything more, and followed Rex toward the Greymane Wall. By drawing Kael'thas away from Dalaran this time, Rex was killing two birds with one stone. He intended to steal the Book of Medivh and pin the blame on the Orcs, directing the Lich King's attention toward them in the future and away from Dalaran.
