Sorry, I went out this morning and got back late, a little after three. After resting for a while, eating, and writing a chapter, it was already this late, so there will only be five updates today. Enough rambling-please subscribe and vote with your monthly tickets.

Azeroth was a special world. Many momentous events had taken place there. The Burning Legion, which had conquered countless worlds, had met its downfall on Azeroth, its successive invasions all ending in failure. The leader of the undead Scourge, the Lich King, undoubtedly already stood at Azeroth's pinnacle. One step further, and he would face expulsion from the entire world. Azeroth was not a particularly powerful world, and there was a limit to the power it could accommodate. Demigod power was that limit. Although quite a few beings of true god-level strength had appeared on Azeroth, they had reduced their power every time. The most notable example was the Dark Titan, Sargeras.

The leader of the Burning Legion possessed tremendous strength and had destroyed one world after another, but he had relinquished most of his power to enter Azeroth. And so this greatest of villainous bosses had met a tragic end.

At this point, however, the Lich King did not have many Heroic Powerhouses under his command. The undead Scourge had only just erupted and had yet to sweep across all of Lordaeron. The Four Horsemen had not appeared either, and future pillars of the undead army, such as Sylvanas, were still very much alive.

The Lich King did have a few Hero Rank subordinates, all conquered in Northrend, but Anub'arak was the only one he could actually send to Lordaeron. Of course, there was also the Archmage Kel'Thuzad, who was still awaiting resurrection.
