Sorry for missing yesterday's update. These past two days have been so busy that I barely knew whether it was day or night, and yesterday I even forgot to explain the situation. Once things settle down, I'll start making up the missed updates.

Watching the gryphons wheel through the air, Rex made no effort to hide his fondness for them. Gryphons appeared in many worlds, and what they represented was invariably positive; they had always been admired. Their significance in Azeroth was relatively modest. On Ashan, the continent of Heroes of Might and Magic, gryphons symbolized royal authority. The Griffin Dynasty even used them as its national emblem, giving them far greater importance than they held in Azeroth.

An adult gryphon standing on all fours measured roughly two to three meters long, not counting its tail. A male weighed about half a ton. To put that more plainly, that was 1,000 jin, or 500 kilograms. Females were about a third lighter.

Supporting that weight in flight was a pair of wings spanning seven to eight meters. A gryphon needed the strength to beat those enormous wings as well as power its formidable forelegs.

Whether seen in the sky or from a distance, gryphons did not look particularly remarkable. Distance made them seem ordinary. Only up close could one appreciate how enormous they were: with its wings spread, a gryphon was nearly as wide as a forty-seat bus was long.

A gryphon's eyes were like living flames. Ruby red, fiery yellow, or ice-crystal blue could all flash within that keen gaze.
