The blazing sun hung high overhead. Summer in Lordaeron was scorching, and countless shafts of sunlight poured down from the sky as wave after wave of heat swept across the land.

The lush green trees stood motionless. There was not a breath of wind that day, making the weather seem even drier and hotter. Yet for Longmeier, the rolling heat brought no sense of warmth. Instead, chills kept rising deep within him.

Longmeier walked step by step through the streets of Lordaeron City, listening to the cries of vendors. People came and went in a scene of prosperity, with nothing to suggest that the city had been a dead place not long ago. He was agitated, terribly agitated.
