"How is your recovery coming along, Your Highness?" Medivh asked softly after he and Rex had taken their seats.

"Fairly well. I'll still need two months to return to peak condition," Rex said after calculating the rate at which his injuries were healing.

Rex's answer made Medivh pause. His expression darkened beneath his cloak, where Rex could not see it, but Rex could still hear it in his voice.

"Two months is rather too long."

"I know it's a long time, but my injuries were too severe this time," Rex said, shaking his head. Two months would bring him back to peak condition, without a single lingering problem. The estimate differed from the Archbishop's because the Archbishop had meant healing his injuries, not restoring him to his peak. There was a considerable difference between the two.

Peak condition meant there would be nothing wrong with Rex at all, while recovery simply meant he was better. Although being better and being fully healed seemed to mean the same thing, the finer distinctions were substantial.

"We cannot put off dealing with the Burning Legion for that long. You still need to go to Kalimdor, Your Highness," Medivh said with a frown, extending one hand before bringing the fingers of both hands together.

Medivh's hands appeared entirely free of calluses. Melee fighters such as warriors and paladins had to train hard and usually had heavily callused hands. Even ordinary mages bore marks from years of wielding a staff. For a mage, Medivh's palms were rather unusual.

"We'll see. The Alliance summit will begin soon. If it really won't work, we can nominate another commander," Rex said gravely.

"That is impossible." Medivh shook his head
