The matter of the Mercenary Guild had been settled, lifting a weight from Rex's mind. All he had to do now was wait for news. Whether it was the people dispatched by the Kingdom of Gilneas to investigate the Tidehunter or the adventurers and mercenaries taking on the task, they would need time.
The upcoming Alliance meeting was still some time away as well.
So all Rex could do now was wait.
After leaving the Mercenary Guild, Rex returned straight to his residence and entered the Warcraft System world. The problem with the Tavern was not something Rexxar could solve. Rex had already realized that the war golems gathered there were extremely powerful. Until his own strength reached the Demigod level, provoking them was out of the question.
There was another way, however. Aside from increasing his own strength, Rex could wage war on the war golems, using an army to force his way through and wipe them all out. But he had rejected that approach first. In his eyes, it had a high chance of success, but it was far too wasteful. Every war golem was at least ninth rank. Against enemies that powerful, even Rex, a Heroic Powerhouse, would fall if surrounded.
If he relied solely on Hero Spirits, Spellcasters would be of little use because of the war golems' resistances. There was hardly any room for them to contribute. Rex could only depend on physical attackers such as Infantry Spirits and Knight spirits, but the gap in rank between those troops and the war golems was enormous. Wiping out the golems would mean throwing lives at them. Just how many gold coins would he have to pour into the effort before he could reach the Tavern?
As for luring the war golems out one at a time
