Yet the actual damage from the impact was minimal. The Paladin had clearly moderated his strength, knowing that Rex did not want the Infantry Spirit to die.
"Heal!" Rex said quietly.
At Rex's command, four men wearing blue cloaks and carrying staffs as tall as themselves strode forward. Soft voices rose as their lips moved continuously, murmuring magical incantations. Finally, all four staffs pointed at the Infantry Spirit, and golden light burst from them.
