"Impossible!" The goblin's refusal was absolute, his tone utterly resolute. He resisted fiercely, with all the determination of someone prepared to charge ahead without looking back.

Those few words laid the goblin's attitude bare and left Rex somewhat surprised. His surprise was hardly unusual. After all, anyone would feel startled and bewildered when something they had considered a sure thing went wrong at the crucial moment.

Once his surprise passed, Rex was left deeply puzzled. A moonstone certainly was not worth ten thousand gold coins in the Warcraft System's world. That much was beyond doubt. As Rex saw it, he only needed to agree and then ask a few casual questions, which the goblin could answer at no cost to himself. It should have been a win-win arrangement for both of them, yet the goblin had rejected it.

Judging by the goblin's manner and tone, his reaction had been rather excessive.

"Why is it impossible?" Rex's tone was no longer as friendly as before. A chill had crept into his voice. His impression of this goblin was terrible; anywhere else, he would never have wasted another word on someone like him.

"You want to ask questions? Ten thousand gold coins per question." A burning light shone in the goblin's eyes as he stared fixedly at Rex. Rex knew that look all too well. It was greed.

Ten thousand gold coins! Greedy-this goblin was far too greedy. Rex nearly cried out, but his exceptional self-control kept him from doing so. His face darkened. Ten thousand gold coins for one question meant that ten questions would cost an entire year's tax revenue from the old Gilneas. Gold coins did not grow on trees. He could not simply have as many as he wanted.

With a sour expression, Rex sneered in a low
