Heat rolled through the blacksmith's shop in Lordaeron City, making it the polar opposite of the bitter weather outside. In the center of the shop, roaring flames had heated an enormous iron furnace until it glowed red.
Wave after wave of heat radiated from the glowing furnace and swept through the shop. Anyone who entered would strip off their heavy coat, sweat streaming down their forehead. Amid this heat, Yamaha stood before Rex in a trim suit of leather armor. After a moment's thought, he continued, "With this blueprint alone, making a suit of armor that looks exactly the same would be no problem. But giving it the properties described here would be utterly impossible."
Yamaha had no intention of deceiving Rex. He spoke frankly, saying exactly what he thought. Aoth nodded at his words, confirming to Rex that Yamaha was entirely correct. Given everything Rex had done for them, both men had every reason to speak honestly rather than deceive him.
Rex had already prepared himself for Yamaha's response. He knew it was unrealistic to expect them to reproduce that armor with nothing but the blueprint in his hand.
It was only natural for Yamaha to say he could not make it. Had he claimed he could, that would have been truly abnormal.
The reasoning was simple, much like modern technology. If someone got hold of an iPhone and claimed they could reproduce it perfectly, would anyone believe them? Of course not. The motherboard and every other component involved all sorts of technologies. At most, they could duplicate the casing; the internal parts would certainly be different. Such a claim would only fool a child.
Compared with copying an iPhone, the task Rex had given them was even more difficult. Aoth had only a drawing to work from, without
