The outskirts of Lordaeron City!
Rex walked steadily forward, a squad of armed guards following slowly behind him.
They kept some distance from him. Here in Lordaeron City, on his own territory, Rex could hardly have been safer.
Inky clouds crowded the sky, blotting out the crimson that had filled it moments before. They hung so heavily they seemed about to fall, their oppressive weight seeming to hush the entire world. A cold, cutting wind swept past, leaving startled cries in its wake. The delicate flowers and grasses had long since bowed trembling to the ground. The wind had risen, heralding the storm!
A downpour was coming, and an oppressive heaviness filled heaven and earth.
Rex's eyes were dark and intent. His destination was an Industrial Base built on the outskirts of Lordaeron City.
As Rex advanced, the Industrial Base soon came into view.
Rex had set aside an independent area for this Industrial Base.
The land had already been enclosed. The layout alone had taken Rex a great deal of time.
The Industrial Base's value was immeasurable. In Rex's mind, it would do more than manufacture goods; it would also stimulate economic prosperity in the surrounding area.
That was why Rex attached such importance to it. He had specifically sought out dwarves and gnomes to plan it, but in the end, he had reluctantly admitted that his idea was somewhat unrealistic.
Dwarves and gnomes were perfectly capable of developing things, but systematic planning was not their strength. What they finally produced was inferior to Rex's own design. This made him understand why gnome and dwarf production lines were such chaotic messes at a glance: they simply had no talent for organization.
His gaze swept over the area ahead, taking in the state of the Industrial Base.
