After the Draenei had been located, Rex did not act rashly. He promptly sent word to the archmage, telling him simply to keep an eye on their movements.
Establishing contact with the Draenei required a process, an opportunity.
If Rex simply sent someone over to tell the Draenei that he wanted to help them and meant them well, who would believe it? No one would.
His good intentions might end up causing trouble instead, making the Draenei suspect that he had ulterior motives.
He therefore needed to think carefully about how to approach them. If an opportunity arose, all the better. If none did, he would have to create one.
Rex's eyes shifted, and an idea came to him. One word surfaced in his mind: Naga.
However, he did not need to put this idea into action yet. He would wait a while and see how things developed.
The peaceful world of Azeroth began to stir with the appearance of the Draenei, and race after race dispatched people to investigate.
Only the Night Elves remained calm, seemingly indifferent. No, they were not indifferent; major events were unfolding within their own society. Unless something as serious as a Burning Legion invasion occurred, they would not concern themselves with the outside world.
Rex sat at the long table, gnawing on a chicken leg and taking great mouthfuls.
Tap, tap, tap!
Hurried footsteps rang out as a maid walked briskly inside. After bowing before Rex, she said, "Your Highness, two elves wish to see you."
Elves? Rex gently set down the chicken leg, a flicker of surprise appearing in his eyes.
He had very few elven friends, only a handful, but every one of them held an extraordinary status. If they came, they could enter directly; Rex had given those instructions long ago.
