A resounding victory-there was no doubt about it.

That description was not used lightly. An ordinary victory hardly deserved such a name.

A true resounding victory required winning while suffering very few casualties. If the losses were too great, it was not a resounding victory, but a pyrrhic one.

And this battle had been won with remarkable ease. Aside from the resistance they had encountered at the beginning, they had met almost none afterward.

It had become nothing more than a pursuit. Like humans, the fleeing ogres liked to demonize their enemies, and as their stories spread, Osborne and his men became ten times more fearsome than they actually were.

There had only been a few hundred invulnerable men, but the ogres claimed that every enemy soldier was invulnerable. How could they possibly fight that? Fleeing became their only remaining choice.

Osborne swept through them without resistance. Toward the end, everyone who encountered him scrambled out of his way, not daring to fight, and simply broke ranks.

When Rex saw Osborne again, the man reeked of blood, and his armor was heavily stained with it. Despite having fought for so long, there was not a trace of fatigue on his face. His excitement had overwhelmed every other emotion.

It was not just Osborne; the others were the same. After approaching Rex and respectfully saluting him, Osborne cast aside his usual composure and declared with satisfaction, "Your Highness, in all my decades of fighting, this is the first battle that has ever felt so exhilarating."

Osborne could hardly have felt otherwise. He had led an invulnerable force, and no matter how he fought, they could keep up with him.
