The book Rex held was fairly ordinary. Its title was The Complete Basics of the Holy Light.
It explained how to wield the Holy Light, though its title alone made its purpose clear.
It covered only the basics of using the Holy Light, the most elementary knowledge.
Yet Rex did not treat it lightly simply because it dealt with the basics.
The way of the Holy Light was vast and profound.
The Holy Light was a power found not only in Azeroth, but in other worlds as well.
The simplest example was the Draenei. They had no connection to humans and had only just arrived in Azeroth.
Yet the Draenei could wield the Holy Light, and had possessed that ability for countless years.
To be honest, the Draenei had wielded the Holy Light long before humans.
Becoming a demigod required more than bringing one's essence, energy, and spirit to their peak. It also required an understanding of the path to demigodhood. As a Paladin, Rex believed he needed his own unique insights into the Holy Light to break through and become a demigod.
The Complete Basics of the Holy Light was not intended for Paladins like Rex, but for Priests. Its intended readers were different.
Yet both Paladins and Priests wielded the Holy Light. One used it to heal, while the other used it to fight.
That was their greatest difference, but the essence remained the same. That was why Rex had begun studying it.
