"The tribe is unstable. That much is certain. Our Arathi Tribe was only founded a few days ago-not even a month. Expecting our people to develop a sense of belonging in such a short time is simply impossible."
"Never mind the ordinary tribespeople. Even the other officials of our Arathi Tribe would be uneasy if they heard this news. Some might even flee outright," Rex said with a cold sneer, his lip curling.
"Impossible. They wouldn't abandon the Arathi Tribe," Evely protested.
"What do you mean, impossible? It's certain," Rex said coldly. "There are some people in the Arathi Tribe who wouldn't flee upon hearing that the Hauge Tribe was attacking, but the one I have the most confidence in is you, Evely. I don't have much faith in the others."
Rex patted Evely's shoulder and spoke with a sigh.
"Thank you for your trust, General," Evely said, his voice trembling with excitement. He looked almost moved to tears by Rex's confidence in him.
Rex was extremely pleased with Evely's reaction. He continued, "Your next task is to confirm what's happening with the Hauge Tribe and start suppressing the news. For the next few days, the Arathi Tribe must stop taking people in. Have them leave for now. We can reconsider once we've dealt with the Hauge Tribe. Otherwise, their people might infiltrate our tribe and coordinate an attack from inside and out."
"I'll station people outside the tribe to intercept anyone coming here. I'll tell them to leave for now and keep them from entering," Evely said, immediately grasping Rex's meaning.
"Yes, do that. Though I doubt many people will come during this period. If they learn what the Hauge Tribe is doing, no one will come to the Arathi Tribe anymore." Rex nodded, pleased with Evely's quick understanding.
