A head-on clash would put Rex at a disadvantage. The Arathi Tribe was hardly in good shape. It now appeared to have more than three thousand people, but few were truly capable fighters. Most had only just been taken captive.

They felt no sense of belonging to the Arathi Tribe. If someone attacked now, these people would be a burden rather than a help. They might even turn on the tribe.

A direct confrontation was therefore not the best approach. In Rex's view, the wisest course was to dispose of the Infinite Dragonflight member in secret.

There had been two members of the Infinite Dragonflight in the central Arathi Highlands. Rex had killed one, leaving the other. Once the survivor received the message and prepared to act, the prolonged absence of any further news would lead him to conclude that his companion had been killed.

He had two ways to deal with that situation. The first was to lead an army straight to the Arathi Tribe and destroy it, settling the matter once and for all.

The second was to infiltrate the Arathi Tribe and find out exactly what had happened.

Both approaches had their advantages and drawbacks, making the choice far from obvious. But after carefully analyzing them, Rex concluded that the Infinite Dragonflight member was most likely to choose the second.

Sending an army against the Arathi Tribe required a compelling reason. The Infinite Dragonflight's deployment told Rex that they were all in the Arathi Highlands, but spread out. In his view, that dispersal was not random. They had deliberately chosen to position themselves that way.

They were unsure where the Bronze Dragonflight would make its arrangements. Although the Infinite Dragonflight knew something of the Bronze Dragonflight's methods, and understood that its eventual plan might be to establish
