Bright sunlight shone down from the sky, bathing the earth.

A gentle breeze blew through the Arathi Tribe, and a piece of linen cloth fluttered in front of a house.

Within the Arathi Tribe, Rex had finished all his preparations. Yet the Infinite Dragonflight, whom he had expected to arrive soon, still had not appeared. This puzzled him, for another two days had passed in the blink of an eye.

Two more days had gone by. That was hardly a short span of time; altogether, nearly a week had passed.

Given the Infinite Dragonflight's speed, that should have been enough time for them to receive the news, make all their arrangements, and hurry over.

The Infinite Dragonflight had not appeared, but life went on. Over the past two days, Rex had sent another group of workers to the Deadmines, all young, able-bodied men. Altogether, the Deadmines now had around two hundred workers.

No one else had said anything about Rex's arrangements, but Evely had some complaints, because he had no idea what Rex was sending those men to do.

Rex simply ignored Evely's complaints.

Since the Infinite Dragonflight had not appeared, Rex turned his attention to developing the Deadmines.

Over the past few days, work at the Deadmines had progressed quite quickly. Although they had yet to extract any gold ore, an analysis of the old records on the Deadmines indicated that they would certainly begin extracting small quantities in another two days.

Ordinarily, mining would not have progressed so quickly. After all, surveys and a whole series of preparations had to be carried out.

But things were entirely different for Rex. He was working from the shoulders of giants: the Deadmines had been excavated long ago, and his men had firsthand records at their disposal.
