By the time Rex reached the wall, the orc rogue had been gone for a quarter of an hour. After questioning the squad that had spotted the rogue in detail, Rex waved them off to wake their comrades, their eyes still filled with admiration.
Rex knew why they looked at him with such admiration. The arrangements he had made during the day made it seem as though he had known well in advance that the orcs would lose patience tonight and send large numbers of rogues to infiltrate Southshore.
They had already crowned Rex a towering genius who could foresee everything.
But that was merely the product of the Knights of the Round Table members' excessive admiration and overactive imaginations. Rex had only taken ordinary precautions. Sending rogues out under cover of darkness was a common siege tactic. He had never expected the orcs to cooperate so perfectly, plunging headfirst into his trap almost as soon as he finished setting it. Even Rex himself had been delighted when he heard the bells ring.
While Rex began making arrangements on the wall, the orc who had infiltrated Southshore's defenses was heading toward a tent in the orc camp. He met no obstacles along the way. Once he entered an ordinary-looking tent, however, its interior proved utterly different from its exterior. From outside, the tent looked unremarkable, and even its defenses seemed light. Inside stood two guards clad in heavy armor that encased their entire bodies. Fully armed and armored, they resembled killing machines.
Had Rex been there, he would have recognized the armor at a glance. It was one of the classic sets he had collected in his previous life: T1-Strength!
