Rex stepped onto the platform, looked at his adjutant Norman beside him, and asked, "Well? Did anyone stop you on your way back to report?"
"No. My return journey was quite uneventful." He shook his head as he answered.
Rex nodded. Only after asking did he realize he had been overthinking things. That sort of scenario was far too fanciful and usually only happened in novels: whenever the protagonist investigated something and found a clue, the trail would end up being cut off, or a witness would suddenly be murdered.
But novels were novels. They certainly could not be treated as reality.
Rex had now reached the late Hero stage. Very few people could keep someone of his strength under surveillance.
Across all of Azeroth, there were only one or two.
The Undead certainly had no one like that. Even if the Lich King acted personally, he would only be evenly matched with Rex, or at most a little stronger. He could not possibly watch Rex without Rex noticing.
So Norman's return was unlikely to have met with any trouble.
The scenarios found in novels would not occur in the real world.
