I got up at noon and started writing. This chapter has been revised too, and three more updates will follow shortly. I apologize for what happened yesterday and ask for your understanding.
Special thanks to Heavenly Net Ground Spikes for the monthly votes. I am deeply grateful.
The Kingdom of Gilneas was lucky.
And Rex was lucky too. His discovery of Kel'Thuzad's conspiracy and exposure of his plan had depended on far too many coincidences.
Had even the slightest thing gone wrong along the way, the outcome would have been completely different. There had been so many variables.
Even as Rex counted himself lucky, he wondered at his good fortune. Kel'Thuzad's entire plan had fallen apart at the final hurdle because of the cables and wires.
Rex watched everything in the Royal Palace Hall with a cold eye. Events had unfolded much as he expected.
King Genn had no intention of abandoning Light's Hope Chapel.
Tirion Fordring emerged as the choice to defend it. With his Heroic strength and the support of the Order of the Silver Hand, he could hold Light's Hope Chapel as firmly as a mountain. Rex was fairly confident of that. Unless the Lich King personally led his main forces there, any attack would surely end in defeat. Even if those main forces came, Light's Hope Chapel would not necessarily lose.
That place was unlike anywhere else. Light's Hope Chapel was a great cathedral, and many devout warriors lay buried within it. They could emerge as hero spirits to aid in battle, provided certain conditions were met.
There was a reason Kel'Thuzad had suffered defeat at Light's Hope Chapel in the original history. He had accounted for everything, but at the final moment, he had never imagined that the chapel could play such a card.
