Swords were an eternal subject. Wherever they appeared, they commanded respect. In East and West alike, the sword carried a long and noble tradition.
In Azeroth, a sword was more than an ordinary weapon. It was also an important symbol of leadership and knighthood.
Using a greatsword as a weapon required no profound mastery. Learning the most basic moves was enough. Simple strikes such as cleaves and sweeps possessed tremendous power in Rex's hands. With the greatsword's weight behind his downward blow, the outcome was already certain, even though the Orc before him fought desperately to block it. The greatsword smashed through his defense, knocked his weapon away, and finally cut his body in two. Blood poured out, but the holy light radiating from Rex blocked it, keeping it from splashing all over him.
Across the entire battlefield, only Rex would squander holy light like this. Wasting the holy light within one's body, which should have been reserved for survival, was a sure way to court death. But that did not apply to Rex. Right now, he rampaged unchecked, and not a single Orc could stop his advance, even without his using holy light. The physical strength of the ninth rank was on full display. Upon reaching the gate, Rex began clearing the area.
With his greatsword, Rex was now the ideal man to hold the gate. Southshore's gate was not narrow, but it was hardly all that wide either. Rex covered the distance in a few strides and swung his greatsword. The Orcs nearby lost their heads one after another
