Thick storm clouds piled up in the sky, a dark, oppressive mass.

The world lay in gloom, and fierce winds howled without cease.

They swept across the land as Rex stood in the courtyard and looked up at the sky.

Judging by the clouds overhead, Rex tried to work out when the rain would begin.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Speak of the devil. Rex had barely begun thinking about the rain when it came pouring down.

Countless raindrops slanted down on the driving wind.

Rex walked slowly toward the house, watching lightning flash across the sky like claws bared in a fleeting snarl, while the low rumble of thunder reached his ears.

In the blink of an eye, the rain had formed a veil of mist.

Everything grew hazy and indistinct. It was impossible to make out anything more than twenty meters away.

Visibility had been severely reduced.

He found this downpour rather unwelcome.

Dislike and delight always had their reasons.

No one liked something without a reason, nor did they dislike something without one.

He knew that this heavy rain was no good thing for Gilneas.

Darius's reinforcements had only just entered the Eastern Plaguelands. This downpour would delay them considerably. They would have to stop marching and make camp.

Whether they could resume their journey the next day would depend on how long the rain lasted and how heavy it became.

Judging by what Rex could see, however, the rainfall here in Lordaeron City would certainly be heavy.

Rex could only hope that the distance between here and the Eastern Plaguelands was enough for the weather there to be different.

The best outcome would be no rain at all, of course, but even Rex knew that was wishful thinking. It simply was not possible.
