"No, I only came to inspect the restoration of Stratholme," the lich said, shaking his head and explaining his intentions.

"The restoration of Stratholme is proceeding smoothly. Give us another month or so, and all the damaged walls will be repaired," Baron Rivendare said after some thought.

He knew the condition of Stratholme like the back of his hand. He inspected it several times every day, and he had just returned from one such inspection.

"A month is too long. Can you finish all the repairs in half a month?" The lich immediately cut the allotted time in half and put the question to Baron Rivendare.

"That's impossible. We have too few workers here in Stratholme."

"We're already working twenty-four hours a day without any interruptions. We can't go any faster." Baron Rivendare frowned at the suggestion of shortening the schedule.

It was absolutely impossible. Those workers outside were not humans, but undead.

They had no limits on their stamina, never tired, and needed neither food nor drink. They worked continuously like machines, only receiving a short rest after three straight days of labor. Even that was an order Baron Rivendare had issued out of concern that something unexpected might happen to them and disrupt the repairs.
