Southshore looked utterly peaceful late at night, like a sleeping giant. But this night was destined to be anything but peaceful in Orc Camp.
Vorgan, the Gnoll Rex had released, was cautiously approaching the Orcs' main camp. There was nothing strange about a Gnoll named Vorgan having no "wolf" in his name. Only people who had never seen much of the world would think otherwise. The famous Gnoll Hogger, for instance, had nothing to do with the word "wolf" either.
Gnolls valued strength above all else, but that did not mean they were stupid. Research by so-called experts and professors in Azeroth had already shown that Gnolls were a highly intelligent race. They learned things very quickly, and teaching a Gnoll a new language might be easier than teaching most other races. Common, Darnassian, Orcish, Thalassian, and Zandali were all easy for Gnolls to master. Their advantage in learning was not limited to languages, either. These "experts" believed that the main obstacle to the Gnolls' further development was their social system. With proper guidance, they might become a powerful force of unfathomable strength.
Vorgan held a fairly high position among the Gnolls, partly because of his strength and partly because of his intelligence. If he foolishly marched straight back to the Orcs' main camp after leaving Southshore, he would only end up captured and interrogated again. The Orcs, not the Gnolls, were in charge there. Thus, Vorgan proceeded cautiously, beginning to circle around in the darkness. A wooden fence surrounded the main camp, guarding against surprise attacks from Southshore.
Several races occupied the Orcs' main camp, each holding its
