Duke Falconcrest gave the order.
The two men, who had transformed from humans into worgen and stood motionless until now, sprang into action.
Their powerful bodies leaped forward, rushing toward the ogre with incredible agility. Seeing this, Duke Falconcrest spoke again, calling out directly, "You stay. You go."
He pointed at one of the worgen and told him to stay.
The worgen was quite docile, without the slightest hint of ferocity. Upon hearing Duke Falconcrest's words, the one he had pointed at immediately halted. After landing, he stopped running and stood motionless, as though waiting for Duke Falconcrest's next command.
Meanwhile, the other undead charged out at tremendous speed. The ogre had started running first.
But the distance between them began to shrink.
The guards in the mansion had already received Duke Falconcrest's orders before the ogre charged out. When they saw him, they made no attempt to resist, retreating immediately and clearing his path.
Many others did exactly as the guards had. Whoever they were, the moment they saw the ogre, their first choice was to retreat.
Duke Falconcrest's instructions suited them perfectly. None of them would have wanted to fight Duke Falconcrest head-on. If they could withdraw instead, who would refuse such a welcome option?
In the Kingdom of Gilneas, people knew little about the ogres' strength because they rarely dealt with them. Only a few understood how powerful ogres were; most merely knew that such creatures existed. Here in Durnholde Keep, however, things were very different. How could the people here be unfamiliar with ogres? Quite apart from the ogres' frequent raids, there was another reason.
