Some troublesome matters remained, but however he looked at it, reclaiming the Alterac Mountains was a good thing. He had walked into the Expeditionary Force's main camp with a smile on his face, yet less than fifteen minutes after entering it, that smile had vanished without a trace.
They had actually lost the battle in Zangarmarsh. All the joy their recent victory had brought him was wiped away by this bad news.

Rex sat behind a wooden table, his expression dark and his sharp gaze fixed on Tirion Fordring before him. In a low voice, he asked, "Give me a detailed account of the situation in Zangarmarsh."

By the time he entrusted the campaign to Bolvar, every race in Zangarmarsh except the few enslaved by the Naga had been brought over to the Alliance's side.
With the Horde joining them as well, the combined Alliance and Horde forces should have been able to crush the Naga outright.
