This was no ordinary day for the Gnolls. Something momentous was destined to happen.

The Orc army continued its siege that day, but its attacks were even weaker than the day before. Ever since that rain, the Orcs' assaults had begun to slacken, growing weaker by the day. Their relentless determination on the first day was long gone. This behavior put Rex on high alert. He had already learned from Vorgan the Gnoll that the Orc army was building Siege Engines-or, more precisely, the Trolls were.

Through their years of fighting the High Elves, these Forest Trolls had developed simple Siege Engines made from timber and magic. They usually used them to overrun High Elf camps. These machines were only effective against small towns and encampments; against major cities such as Stormwind City and Lordaeron, they would accomplish little.

A cold glint flashed in Rex's eyes. The Orcs had pinned their hopes on this batch of Siege Engines the Trolls were building. They had spent the past few days conserving their strength, waiting for the machines to be completed so they could take Southshore in one decisive assault. But their plan would never come to fruition.

By then, Vorgan had already begun his challenge against the Gnoll Grand Marshal. There were no Gnolls among the main force attacking that day-a very promising sign. Vorgan had been
