Ch. 1474Visitors

Caesar and the others connected Mai Sakatoku’s hospital visit and He Xiaomeng’s accidents to the strange events surrounding He Xiaomeng, while worrying he might be their source. After taking his damaged truck to the garage, He Xiaomeng returned home late and found someone waiting in his living room.

  • Finn told Caesar, Chen Motong, and Lu Mingfei that Mai Sakatoku had been hospitalized after a truck accident involving He Xiaomeng.
  • Chen Motong connected Mai Sakatoku and a subordinate of Chen Moxin to He Xiaomeng, concluding that something was wrong with him.
  • Caesar warned that He Xiaomeng might be the source of the abnormalities, leaving Lu Mingfei worried that he might have to oppose his senior brother.
  • He Xiaomeng took his damaged truck to the mechanic, who said repairs would take several days, then went home by taxi.
  • He Xiaomeng entered his darkened apartment and found someone on the sofa with bright, captivating eyes.

Ch. 1476A New Cycle?

He Xiaomeng encountered Naga, who mistook him for General Mike Amon before realizing he was connected to a different version of someone she knew. She vanished after warning him that a battle of destiny was approaching, leaving him alone with a strange smile.

  • He Xiaomeng came home to find Naga dressed as an ancient priestess, and she accused him of hiding their past together.
  • Naga searched for news about General Mike Amon but could not find the information she expected, while He Xiaomeng questioned her floating bone staff.
  • He Xiaomeng told Naga that Lu Mingfei from Kassel College had visited him, and she concluded that she understood what was happening.
  • Naga said He Xiaomeng was him but not him, warned him to stay out of the coming battle of destiny, and vanished.
  • He Xiaomeng stood alone before the television and slowly smiled.

Ch. 1477Sacred Heart Benevolent Hospital

Lu Mingfei reflected on the uncertain boundary between humans and dragons before spotting someone who looked like Chu Zihang and following his car to the outskirts. NOMA traced the car to Sacred Heart Benevolent Hospital, leaving Lu Mingfei outside the isolated building.

  • Lu Mingfei bought a jianbing and listened as the stall owner explained how vendors and city officers informally kept things in balance.
  • Lu Mingfei thought about He Xiaomeng, He Xiaoyu, the dragon-scaled fighters, and his own transformed hands as he questioned what separated humans from dragons.
  • Lu Mingfei spotted a man who looked like Chu Zihang in a passing car and chased after it, memorizing its license plate when he lost sight of it.
  • Lu Mingfei asked NOMA to track the car and followed its route by taxi toward the outskirts.
  • NOMA inferred that the car had most likely entered Sacred Heart Benevolent Hospital, and Lu Mingfei repeated the hospital's name.

Ch. 1478Psychiatric Hospital

Lu Mingfei entered Sacred Heart Benevolent Hospital and followed a young man before someone knocked him unconscious. Chu Zihang visited his mother, Su Xiaoyan, and realized he could not reveal who he was until he found a way to repair the broken timeline.

  • Lu Mingfei entered the guarded Sacred Heart Benevolent Hospital and followed a black-haired young man deeper into the grounds.
  • The young man vanished around a corner, and an unseen attacker struck Lu Mingfei unconscious with a water pipe.
  • Chu Zihang found his mother, Su Xiaoyan, asleep in her hospital room.
  • Chu Zihang realized Su Xiaoyan’s forgotten son had left a gap in her memories that contributed to her mental illness.
  • Chu Zihang decided he had to set the world right before he could tell Su Xiaoyan that he was her son.

Ch. 1479Lu Mingfei's Infiltration

Chu Zihang learned that Odin had altered the worldline and that one of his companions still remembered him, then suspected Lu Mingfei might possess Dragon King-like status. Rigerif knocked Lu Mingfei out while he followed Chu Zihang, and the chapter left Lu Mingfei waking restrained in a dark room.

  • Xia Mi explained that the Dragon Kings’ wars had repeated across restarted worldlines and that Odin had seen through the cycle and changed the world.
  • Chu Zihang suspected Lu Mingfei was the companion who remembered him and left without visiting his searching companions.
  • Su Xiaoyan woke after Chu Zihang left and silently cried as he walked away.
  • Rigerif told Chu Zihang that she had knocked out and restrained the person following him, and Xia Mi identified him as Lu Mingfei.
  • Lu Mingfei woke at night in a restraint chair and heard a hoarse voice address him.

Ch. 1480Daoist Priest

Lu Mingfei found himself restrained in a room with three men acting out bizarre identities, including Wang Cheng'en, who believed Lu Mingfei was the last hope of the Ming dynasty. As Wang urged him to restore the Ming, Lu Mingfei wondered whether he was in a psychiatric hospital.

  • Lu Mingfei recognized Pingyangzi, who greeted him as a layman.
  • Lu Mingfei noticed three other men tied to restraint chairs, including a bald man claiming to be a Great Lama and State Preceptor.
  • A disheveled man called Half-Immortal Wang accused the bald man of stealing his position as State Preceptor.
  • A shrill-voiced man identified himself as Wang Cheng'en and addressed Lu Mingfei as the Ming emperor.
  • Wang Cheng'en urged Lu Mingfei to carry on the will and restore the Ming, while the bald man joined his chant.
  • Lu Mingfei looked at the restraints and the men around him and suspected he was in a psychiatric hospital.

Ch. 1481Daoist Priest and Patient

Lu Mingfei tried to convince Daoist Priest Pingyangzi that he was sane while learning that the infirmary was an ordinary psychiatric hospital. Pingyangzi recognized Chu Zihang as Lu Mingfei’s senior from Shilan High School, but Lu Mingfei remained restrained.

  • Pingyangzi explained that the three restrained men suffered delusions and called them lunatics in plain terms.
  • Lu Mingfei asked why Pingyangzi was at the infirmary, and Pingyangzi said it was an ordinary hospital unrelated to the True Martial Demon-Slaying Academy.
  • Pingyangzi refused to remove Lu Mingfei’s restraints and questioned him about his identity and unusual experiences.
  • Lu Mingfei admitted he had seen gods, immortals, and mysterious gates, prompting Pingyangzi to treat him as a fellow traveler who believed the world needed correction.
  • Lu Mingfei said he had come to find Chu Zihang, and Pingyangzi recalled Chu as an outstanding Shilan High School student recruited by Kassel.

Ch. 1482Mental Patient and Mental Patient

Lu Mingfei was overjoyed when Pingyangzi remembered Chu Zihang and agreed to cultivate with him, unaware that the people outside the room thought they were both patients. Caesar and Chen Motong remained unsure what to believe, and Finn suggested asking Lu Mingfei to sign himself in for observation.

  • Pingyangzi freed Lu Mingfei from the restraints and invited him to cultivate the Great Dao with him, and Lu Mingfei eagerly agreed.
  • Outside the one-way glass, Chen Motong explained that Pingyangzi was the Vice Principal of True Martial Demon-Slaying Academy, while the middle-aged man revealed that he was a patient at the hospital.
  • The middle-aged man concluded that Lu Mingfei had mental issues, and Chen Motong realized she had mistaken one patient's belief for proof that Chu Zihang existed.
  • Pingyangzi spoke to Lu Mingfei about Ascension and the Golden Elixir Dao as Wang Cheng'en celebrated Lu Mingfei as a worthy talent for restoring the Ming.
  • The middle-aged man asked whether Lu Mingfei could be admitted for treatment, and Finn suggested having Lu Mingfei sign himself in for observation.

Ch. 1483Mad?

Lu Mingfei and Nono discovered that Pingyangzi also remembered people erased from the world, including He Xiaomeng, confirming that Lu Mingfei was not alone in remembering them. Nono concluded the mystery might involve a new Dragon King, while Pingyangzi left wondering whether the events were reincarnation and whether True Dragon blood was involved.

  • Lu Mingfei excitedly told Caesar, Nono, and Finn that Pingyangzi remembered Chu Zihang.
  • Nono showed Pingyangzi a photo of He Xiaomeng, and he recognized him as someone who had been with her at Shilan High School, but he did not recognize Erii.
  • Finn revealed that Pingyangzi was a patient at the mental hospital, leaving Lu Mingfei doubting his memories and sanity.
  • Nono explained that Pingyangzi had recognized He Xiaomeng without learning about him from Lu Mingfei, proving that the mystery was not Lu Mingfei's problem alone.
  • Nono said Kassel needed to investigate with its full strength because the erased people might be connected to a new Dragon King with terrifying authority.
  • Pingyangzi paused in the corridor, wondered if the events were reincarnation, and concluded that True Dragon blood was still involved.

Ch. 1484Gradually Becoming Clear

Lu Mingfei gained The Academy’s support to investigate Erii, He Xiaomeng, and Chu Zihang, but Chen Motong arranged for him to stay in the hospital for observation. Finn uncovered a connection between Chu Zihang and a dead boy named Lu Mang, leaving Chen Motong to wonder whether Chu Zihang was a ghost or part of a reality that had changed.

  • Caesar agreed to organize the clues and report them to Professor Schneider, turning Lu Mingfei’s search into an official concern for The Academy.
  • Chen Motong told Lu Mingfei he needed to stay in the hospital for observation, and Finn persuaded him to rest and use the chance to question Pingyangzi.
  • Lu Mingfei asked why Chu Zihang had come to the hospital, and Finn revealed that a patient named Su Xiaoyan had once had a son named Lu Mang who died in a car accident.
  • Chen Motong and Lu Mingfei recognized Lu Mang as resembling Chu Zihang, and Lu Mingfei recalled that Chu Zihang’s stepfather had the surname Lu.
  • Chen Motong suggested Lu Mang might have survived under another identity as a wandering ghost and asked Lu Mingfei whether he knew about Schrödinger’s Cat.

Ch. 1485The Observers

Lu Mingfei, Chen Motong, Finn, and Caesar considered whether Chu Zihang could exist as both alive and dead, and suspected the Orthodox had hidden him. Meanwhile, several groups watched He Xiaomeng’s home, and Zhou Minhao noticed a strange reflection in his mirror.

  • Chen Motong explained Schrödinger’s Cat, and Finn compared its superposition to the conflicting accounts of Chu Zihang and Lu Mang.
  • Caesar argued that the Orthodox might be hiding Lu Mang and wondered whether the Daoist Priest had seen another world.
  • He Xiaomeng ran through a downpour into his building while Mai Sakatoku and Chen Moxin watched him from nearby hotels.
  • Chen Moxin spotted Xia Mi and Rigerif watching He Xiaomeng’s home, and Xia Mi said he would not recognize her and that Kassel’s people had brought the vortex back to him.
  • Zhou Minhao monitored He Xiaomeng’s home while eating hot pot, then saw a burly figure on horseback flash through his mirror’s reflection.

Ch. 1486Many Parties Take Notice

A massive Nibelungen unfolded over the city as a Dragon King’s presence stirred the storm and drew the attention of powerful figures. He Xiaomeng, secretly Amon, realized how many factions were watching him and decided to keep playing the part of an ordinary person.

  • Wa Master sensed the upheaval of the elements and recognized the aura of a Dragon King.
  • Xia Mi and Rigerif felt a Monarch’s oppressive presence, while Naga challenged an unseen enemy from a rooftop.
  • Fenrir emerged from the sea, ate a shark, and watched the city before diving back underwater.
  • He Xiaomeng watched the typhoon warning and wondered why so many people had focused on him.
  • Amon traced the attention from Kassel, Xia Mi, Orthodox, Naga, Odin, and Lu Mingze to Naga’s report and the suspicions that followed.
  • Amon decided to remain in his ordinary human identity and amuse himself a little longer.

Ch. 1487Dangerous Pingyangzi

Chen Motong, Caesar, and Finn drove through the typhoon as Caesar grew uneasy about the darkness and their lost signal. At the hospital, Lu Mingfei overheard Pingyangzi gently persuading his doctor with Daoist teachings and wondered if the priest was dangerously convincing, just as Lu Mingze appeared beside him.

  • Chen Motong sped through the rain while Finn pleaded with her to slow down and Caesar defended her driving.
  • Caesar failed to reach Professor Schneider and worried that the storm and darkness signaled danger.
  • Lu Mingfei went to visit Pingyangzi, learned the priest was talking with a doctor, and listened outside the tea room.
  • Pingyangzi turned the doctor's questions about staying up late into a discussion of cultivation and the Dao, leaving the doctor mostly listening.
  • Lu Mingfei decided Pingyangzi was a dangerously persuasive patient and should be approached cautiously.
  • Lu Mingze appeared beside Lu Mingfei and called Pingyangzi basically a cult leader.

Ch. 1488The Book Turner

Lu Mingze explained that Odin had manipulated the world’s coupled realities and altered history by returning to a bookmarked point in the timeline. Lu Mingfei learned Erii was probably taken by Nine Infants but remained alive, and he resolved to find her.

  • Lu Mingfei asked Lu Mingze where he had been, what happened to Erii, and why the world had changed.
  • Lu Mingze said Erii had probably been taken by Nine Infants and that her thread of fate suggested she was still alive.
  • Lu Mingze explained that Odin had caused people to forget Chu Zihang and Senior Brother He by exploiting the world’s underlying rules.
  • Lu Mingze described fate as an unseen current that carries events toward inevitable outcomes, including the awakening of Nidhogg.
  • Lu Mingze explained that realities were coupled like pages in a vast book and said Odin could return to bookmarked points to alter history.

Ch. 1489Pillars of the World

Lu Mingze explained how Odin’s worldline restart altered the world and erased Erii and Chu Zihang from its history, then revealed that He Xiaomeng may be an exception that disrupted the cycle. He left Lu Mingfei with an unanswered question about whether the restart treated He Xiaomeng as a Dragon King or an ordinary human.

  • Lu Mingze told Lu Mingfei that Odin had restarted the original Alpha Worldline, creating the altered Beta Worldline.
  • Lu Mingze explained that Nine Infants resisted the restart and overpowered other forces affecting Erii, causing her to disappear from the observations of Minamoto Chisaki and the others.
  • Lu Mingze revealed that Erii was the Dragon King Jormungandr and that Odin’s restart erased her past and changed Chu Zihang’s history, leaving him dead as Lu Mang at age fifteen.
  • Lu Mingze said he did not know why Chu Zihang seemed to avoid Lu Mingfei and why He Xiaomeng and Xia Mi had been affected by the restart.
  • Lu Mingze proposed that He Xiaomeng was a world-altering exception because he had transformed from an ordinary human into a Dragon King, then wondered which identity the restart had used to judge him.

Ch. 1490The Truth Behind the Restart

Lu Mingze explained to Lu Mingfei how He Xiaomeng became a Dragon King and how his death in the Abyssal Zone may have caused the world line to restart. Lu Mingfei learned that He Xiaomeng was now an ordinary person and wondered whether to warn him, then asked about the Daoist Priest.

  • Lu Mingze told Lu Mingfei that He Xiaomeng had evolved from a weak Hybrid into a Dragon King and died in the Abyssal Zone.
  • Lu Mingze revealed that Fenrir was the Dragon King Fenrir, Xia Mi was Jormungandr, and Amon, Jormungandr, and Odin fought in the Abyssal Zone.
  • Lu Mingze explained that Odin may have restarted the world line to bypass the time needed to hatch from an egg, while He Xiaomeng's unusual history caused uncertainty in the new timeline.
  • Lu Mingze said Xia Mi's He Xiaoyu identity and He Xiaomeng's current state as an ordinary person may also have resulted from the restart's interference.
  • Lu Mingfei considered warning He Xiaomeng, but Lu Mingze cautioned that learning more could draw him into the war between humans and dragons.
  • Lu Mingfei set aside the decision and asked Lu Mingze what the Daoist Priest's connection to a cult might mean.

Ch. 1491Agent of the Evil God

Lu Mingfei learned from Lu Mingze that Pingyangzi was an agent of an Outer God, far more dangerous than the Dragon Kind. After a terrifying vision in the hospital, Lu Mingfei left Pingyangzi, who then gazed toward a gate of Starlight in the Void.

  • Lu Mingfei feared he might not be human, but Lu Mingze redirected the conversation to warn him about Pingyangzi.
  • The hospital transformed around Lu Mingfei, and Lu Mingze explained that Pingyangzi served an Outer God connected to Kukulkan, Naga, and He Xiaomeng.
  • Lu Mingze vanished, and a doctor emerged from the strange tea room before the corridor and door returned to normal.
  • Pingyangzi invited Lu Mingfei to discuss the Dao, but Lu Mingfei declined and left the hospital corridor.
  • After Lu Mingfei departed, Pingyangzi looked through the storm toward a gate gleaming with Starlight in the Void.

Ch. 1492Maybach in the Rain

Finn uncovered that the Maybach in Lu Mang’s old accident belonged to the Boss of Huanya Group, while Chen Motong’s Profiling led the group to the same car in a rain-soaked Nibelungen. The chapter ended with Chen Motong, Finn, and Caesar approaching the wrecked Maybach armed and ready to investigate.

  • Finn reviewed old newspaper reports and discovered that Lu Mang’s biological father had come to collect him in a Maybach owned by the Boss of Huanya Group.
  • Caesar failed to contact Kassel College, and Finn warned that their surroundings seemed unusual.
  • Chen Motong entered a Profiling state and described a boy, a vague male driver, music, and a dangerous pursuer inside a car.
  • Finn recognized the parked Maybach as the one from Lu Mang’s accident and suspected they had entered a Nibelungen.
  • Finn and Caesar took weapons from the car, and the three walked through the rain toward the Maybach.

Ch. 1493Zero Elevated Bridge

Caesar, Finn, and Nono followed a raven to Zero Elevated Bridge, where they encountered Odin and his two enormous wolves. The wolves unexpectedly greeted Caesar like friendly pets, leaving the group bewildered before Odin’s intentions became clear.

  • Caesar found Chu Zihang’s sword, Murasame, inside the mud-smeared Maybach, and Chen Motong concluded that Lu Mang had died there.
  • A raven led Caesar, Finn, and Nono to Zero Elevated Bridge, where the streetlights illuminated a path through the rain.
  • Odin appeared on horseback within a ring of golden fire, and the group felt the overwhelming pressure of a Dragon King.
  • Caesar shot a noisy raven perched on Odin’s shoulder, and another raven immediately took its place.
  • Odin’s giant wolves, Geri and Freki, approached Caesar and wagged their tails instead of attacking, leaving him confused.

Ch. 1494Departure

Caesar, Finn, and Chen Motong encountered Odin and his wolves on Zero Elevated Bridge, but Odin vanished after saying he was waiting for someone else. As they drove deeper into the fog, Chen Motong’s Profiling revealed Chu Zihang fighting Dead Servants and charging at Odin.

  • Geri and Freki wagged their tails at Caesar before returning to Odin’s side.
  • Odin told Caesar, Finn, and Chen Motong to stand down, then disappeared into the fog with his wolves, ravens, and Eight-Legged Steed.
  • Finn identified Odin as one of the Four Great Kings, the King of Sky and Wind, and Chen Motong urged the group to leave.
  • Finn photographed the damaged Maybach, and Caesar drove the Ferrari along the fog-shrouded bridge.
  • Chen Motong’s Profiling showed Dead Servants pursuing the Maybach and a katana-wielding Chu Zihang charging at Odin.
