Chen Miao looked at Huang Jinjin and shook his head.
"It won't hurt."
Huang Jinjin forced a smile.
"Then... then please help him."
Chen Miao nodded. After glancing at the unchanged contents of the book, he stood up and said, "This isn't a suitable place. Let's go somewhere else."
With that, Chen Miao led the way outside.
Chen Muqing and Shao Qidong immediately followed, while Huang Jinjin shakily pushed herself to her feet.
The four had barely left their booth when Deng Chen and the others, whom Huang Jinjin had sent away earlier, crowded around them.
Seeing the tear tracks on Huang Jinjin's face, Deng Chen started shouting threats, ready to fight.
At this, Huang Jinjin swung her hand across his face.
"Get lost."
The slap left Deng Chen dazed.
"Jinjin, they bullied you! Why are you hitting me?"
"I told you to get lost. Didn't you hear me?"
Her face still streaked with tears, Huang Jinjin stared coldly at Deng Chen.
Not daring to say another word, Deng Chen took the others back to their booth.
Seeing that Huang Jinjin had dealt with the situation, Chen Miao continued toward the bar's exit.
But after just a few steps, someone stopped them again.
This time, though, they weren't looking for trouble.
"Mr. Chen, we meet again."
Xie Songde smiled and held out his hand to Chen Miao.
Looking at the server behind Xie Songde, Chen Miao seemed to understand what had happened.
"Hello, Mr. Xie."
Xie Songde looked at Chen Muqing and Shao Qidong, his gaze finally settling on Chen Muqing.
"Hello, I'm Xie Songde. Here's my business card. If you ever need anything, feel free to contact me."
Xie Songde handed his understated business cards to Chen Muqing and Shao Qidong.
