Early the next morning, Chen Miao went back to the courtyard to continue making paper offerings.
This time, however, he was only practicing.
After successfully making two General Effigies in a row, Chen Miao's next goal was to use materials redeemed from the book to create a perfect paper offering that could be stored inside it.
But making such a paper offering required far too many kinds of materials.
Bamboo strips, rice paper, colored paper, gold leaf, silver leaf, cinnabar, ink, cotton thread, paste, sorghum stalks...
All these materials could be found on the redemption page of Notes on Achieving Divinity in the Mortal World. But just as when he had made talismans before, these materials were not specifically prepared for making paper offerings, so Chen Miao could not purchase only the portions he needed.
If he wanted them, he had to buy a whole batch!
Chen Miao roughly calculated that buying everything would cost one tael and two qian, not including the equipment he would make for the paper offering afterward.
Although he certainly would not use up some of the redeemed materials, spending one tael and two qian of yin virtue all at once still pained him a little.
But whenever he thought of how necessary it was to make a perfect paper offering, he knew he had to spend that yin virtue!
Still, spending it was one thing. Wasting it was another.
So Chen Miao needed to practice his crafting skills some more to ensure he wasted no materials!
For a while after that, Chen Miao and Fang Zheng each busied themselves with their own work.
A week later.
Fang Zheng successfully made a wife he was satisfied with. When he dotted her eyes, Chen Miao watched from the side.
