Although dawn had only just begun to break, Chen Miao could still see Cao Xiu's expression clearly.
At that moment, Chen Miao even noticed that most of Cao Xiu's malice toward him had vanished.
Was he scared?
But soon, the malice returned to normal.
Seeing Cao Xiu act as though nothing had happened, Chen Miao merely smiled.
Apparently, not every villain would blurt out, "Why aren't you dead?"
Shaking his head, Chen Miao followed the others to the storeroom and collected the materials he needed to process, as usual.
Apparently, two Third-Grade Apprentices had already been recruited, but neither had been assigned to the Grade-B Courtyard yet. It seemed they would have to keep processing their own materials for a while. Over the course of the morning, Chen Miao finished his own materials, then helped Ge Feng process some of his. He spent the remaining time "practicing" Bone Binding.
Some time had passed since Chen Miao became a Second-Grade Apprentice, so he no longer had to visit "Ma Jie" every day to learn Bone Binding techniques. For the following month, however, he could still go back with any questions he encountered. It was something of a beginner's perk.
Chen Miao planned to limit those visits to once every two days. That meant he now had to process his own materials and "practice" Bone Binding, at least enough for everyone to see his progress. After lunch, Ge Feng saw Chen Miao begin Bone Binding and made a point of giving him some guidance.
Ying Xiu saw all of this.
Why is he fine? Couldn't three people deal with one man?
Or did those three never run into Chen Bai at all?
Ying Xiu thought back to how Chen Bai had already been gone when he got up yesterday morning.
