Chen Miao looked at this teammate who had been dropped into their group, unsure where his hostility came from.
Without speaking, Chen Miao watched Xi Sheng talk to their new teammate.
"Hello, I'm Su Chen. You must be Xi Sheng and Chen Miao?"
Su Chen looked at the two of them as he spoke.
"Yes. What happened with you? Why are you only being assigned to a team now?"
Su Chen gave a bitter smile.
"Something happened to my original teammates. It wasn't convenient for me to operate alone, so I was reassigned."
Xi Sheng said nothing more and raised his wrist to check the time.
"We've already been ordered to assemble. Let's talk on the way."
"Sure."
Su Chen nodded, then followed Xi Sheng toward the garage alongside Chen Miao.
"You practice yin cultivation?"
Su Chen's sudden question made Chen Miao glance sideways.
"Why?"
"Oh, I was just curious. There are special requirements for yin cultivators on this operation. I take it you're pretty good at hand-to-hand combat, too?"
Chen Miao looked at his friendly face and gave a quiet "Mm."
"Too bad we're out of time. Otherwise, we'd have to spar. I've never exchanged hand-to-hand techniques with a yin cultivator before."

Su Chen seemed oblivious to Chen Miao's reluctance to talk and continued, "I see you're carrying a Peach Wood Sword. What branch of yin cultivation do you practice?" "I don't belong to any school or sect. I found a book when I was little and practiced what it taught. That's all."
The corner of Su Chen's mouth twitched at Chen Miao's answer.
"Oh, I see. You must be a real genius, then."
