At the Fushou Funeral Center, Du Xiang smiled as he put down the phone.

"Aren't you supposed to have powerful connections? If you're so capable, get them to fix your reputation too!"

After a sip of tea, Du Xiang picked up his keys in high spirits and left the office.

The Fushou Funeral Center was quiet at night. Since taking it over from his older brother, Du Rui, Du Xiang still hadn't quite adjusted to the funeral home environment. But his family wouldn't feel comfortable leaving such a large funeral center in the hands of other relatives.

Fortunately, after more than half a year, he had more or less settled in.

He hadn't managed to accomplish the task his brother had given him: bringing down the Tianmen Funeral Home.

But there was plenty of time. An opportunity would come.

He walked to the parking lot, opened his car door, and got in. Then he lit a cigarette and gazed out the window at the funeral center's deathly stillness.

In spite of himself, he remembered the other thing his brother had asked him to do.

Exhaling smoke, Du Xiang shook his head and banished the thought.

After all, his brother had fallen into those people's hands. There was no reason for both brothers to fall into the same trap.

He had ways to monopolize Tianmen County's funeral business over the next few years using ordinary methods.

Du Xiang reached out and turned the ignition key.

Ch-ch-ch!

Ch-ch-ch!

He tried twice, but the car wouldn't start.

Putting the cigarette in his mouth, Du Xiang held the steering wheel with one hand and kept turning the key with the other.

Ch-ch-ch... vroom!

The car finally started. Du Xiang switched on the radio and drove out while listening.

"Dear listeners, welcome to 'Nighttime Chat'!"
