Chen Miao stayed where he was, eating nuts and looking around like everyone else.
It was as though the Chen Bai that man had mentioned had nothing to do with him.
Zheng Cuicui saw this, as did Lin Feng, Zheng Mei, and Weng Bo beside them. Only Kong Xunzhen, whose back was turned to Chen Miao, missed it.
"Old Kong, the more I look at this disciple of yours, the more I like him. Why don't you let me have him this time, too?"
Weng Bo looked at Kong Xunzhen as he spoke.
Kong Xunzhen ignored him and simply picked up the teacup on the table.
Only as the tea reached his lips did he speak.
"He called out Kong's Shop in Qingjiang Town. Didn't you hear?"
The instant those words left his mouth, Chen Miao jumped straight down from the second-floor gallery.
He left Zheng Cuicui and Lin Feng staring dumbfounded at the nuts he had tossed onto the table, which were still rolling.
"That's just too..."
Lin Feng wanted to say "too much of a suck-up," but fortunately held himself back.
Beside him, Zheng Cuicui watched the scene below with a smile.
"Brother Chen will win, won't he?"
Lin Feng looked over.
He had confidence in Chen Miao, but the man issuing the challenge was not to be underestimated either.
If those paper offerings managed to entangle him, Chen Miao's physical abilities would probably be restricted.
The best approach, then, was to get past the two paper offerings and finish the fight with one punch, just as he had when he beat Lin Feng at the Yizhuang.
While Lin Feng was thinking this, the young challenger below spoke again.
"You're Chen Bai?"
Chen Miao nodded. "Chen Bai, from Kong's Shop in Qingjiang Town."
"Where are your paper offerings?"
