Only after one stage ended would the next begin.
These missions allowed a slightly greater margin for error than the first type, but the problem was that no one knew where the next stage would begin or what would happen once it did.
Something they overlooked during the first stage might become the key to the Second Phase, and that could cause serious trouble.
If they were unlucky and botched things in the first stage, they might all be wiped out in the Second Phase.
If they were lucky and took care of the Second Phase's requirements during the first, the Second Phase would be easy.
Compared to the first type, then, the second type of
