"Move faster, all of you. Take the bodies to the Shi Residence's back courtyard."
The Shi Residence's steward was urging several servants along.
Despite his impatience, there was nothing the steward could do.
Because of the zombies, his master had dismissed a number of servants during the day. Most of those who remained had fled during the battle just now, leaving only four in total.
Even among those four, one was a coachman who often worked for the master outside the residence.
The coachman happened to have returned from his errands today. He had gone to his room and slept through the entire battle, only to be dragged out afterward to do the heavy lifting.
Otherwise, they would have had even fewer hands.
"Thank you for your hard work, everyone. The master certainly won't let your efforts go unrewarded."
Zhao Er, who was busy working, curled his lip at the old steward's words.
He was no fool. Master Shi's entire family was dead. They would be lucky not to get blamed, let alone rewarded.
"If I'd known, I wouldn't have come back here to sleep. I should've put up with the extra trouble and gone home instead."

The steward bowed as soon as he saw Ye Jiangfan. "You and your companions are honored guests of the master. Please, ask whatever you like."
Ye Jiangfan pointed to where Zhao Er had just been standing. "That young man who was here a moment ago-is he one of your servants?"
The old steward paused, then thought back to who had been standing there.
"You mean Zhao Er? Yes, he's our master's coachman, though he rarely stays
