"Where are we going?"
After opening the door, Chen Miao voiced his confusion.
"Banner Assistant Wu summoned us Junior Banner Officers last night and questioned us about our findings one by one. Then I was told we would leave the Eastern Mausoleum first thing this morning and return to report."
Chen Miao was surprised.
"How did the Banner Assistant react when you told him what we found last night?"
Kong Yue shook her head.
"He didn't react at all. He didn't seem remotely interested in what little we'd discovered."
"But summoning us that late at night and telling us to leave today makes me think he must have found something himself. That would explain why he wasn't interested in our findings."
"Wang Tingsong even tried to make a deal with me, saying we should exchange information about what we'd found. I ignored him."
A trace of scorn appeared on Kong Yue's face.
"Hurry up and pack. Once you're ready, we'll head over to meet the Banner Assistant."
"All right."
There was little to pack beyond a few changes of clothes.
Before long, Chen Miao and the other two arrived at Wu Bin's small courtyard.
